Good Old Brown

For all those who have loved me,
I say that I am content now;
I gratify you for thinking of me,
And finding a way to let go somehow.

As an Alabamian boy of the thirties,
I never met destiny like I did in Miami;
I felt as though I was beyond worthy
Of the joy of having my own family.

While I spiritually ascend,
To the dear almighty one;
I discern no trials to transcend,
Because my work here is done.

I appreciate you for what you do,
And add me whenever you pray,
Because my journey is through,
And I am now your hearts to stay.

This is a tribute to George Brown,
Telling all to keep your chins high,
Because he and God look down
Over our so very much rainy sky.
