How much is changed by a few short years?  Barely past my own college years and I have been initiated into the so-called real world which serves no purpose other but to suck the life and soul out of all humankind.  No more yearning for Mount Everest or the South Pole.  The travels of Marco Polo are entered into memory airbrushed back into nostalgia.  Those books of past once filling me with awe now sit on a shelf gathering dust.  I have gone off course and fell into a black hole of blandness.  The change came slowly and without much notice,

A so-called real world

we all fall victim to the lie

such endless travail

sucking the passion from hearts

sabotaging dreams of youth
