SUNDAY LAUNDRY

It used to be that I would try to plan out my beer selection for the poetry readings.  The was always to get suitable lubricated without getting too shitfaced.  It was an artform.  The right buzz could lead to heightened reading intensity.  Too much of a good thing could mean diminished enunciation.

But the pandemic era has led to Zoom poetry readings done over a computer.  I found myself realizing that I still needed to get my laundry done.  Hmmm, I could run down the hall to the laundry room and throw the clothes in the washing machine.  Time it out to transfer clothes to the dryer between readers.  So instead of getting drunk and plotting out beers, I’m timing out loads of laundry and spin cycles.  Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

Suddenly laundry

becomes the Sunday buzzword

gotta clean the clothes

can’t being wearing dirty clothes

for weekday teleworking
