SNOW IN APRIL

The weather down here is so strange

I wonder the Gods that sent this snow

                  upon my brow

The flakes strike me and I shiver

                    from the cold

There are bizarre thoughts that go

flashing thru my brain

My brain becomes a tunnel for

              these unusual thoughts

The weather is aways so strange

as it snows in April but we

enjoy 70 degree weather in February

The wonders of nature beseech me

and I watch the first leaves in Spring

               begin to blossom

I await the resurrection of the rose bushes

I see the trees begin to prosper

and I sit back and soak up the sun

The snow begins to melt and the birds

                        begin to chirp

And I await another form of Spring

                       delight

I see a sweet little angel before me

and then another in front of me

I know the summertime is not far away

I prepare for the warm summer nights

as April snow melts away and birds

begin to sing their sweet love songs

Soon it’ll be here I think and I begin

                     to rejoice
