So now
it’s past closing time
never stopped me
from having a beer before
well,
when it’s
still early
the hope rises
then
the subtle crash
which requires
hours to discover
bleak ain’t the word
but we’ll persist
in our folly
looking for
something better
sometimes
a cold brew
from a can
is all it takes
