Work usually sucks

but there are little ways

to amuse oneself

one job at a packaging company

provided such entertainment

They had a cardboard bin

to throw out cardboard

until a guy came in a truck

to pick up the cardboard

When the bin was half full

and the work load was slow

I used to play football

with the shipper/receiver guy

what we dis was

play a game of goal line stand

It was a good way

to pass the time

and since we never got caught

it was well worth it

I, of course, scored more

but it’s hardly worth boasting since

I had a 70 lbs weight advantage

I was John Riggins

when I had the ball

and Lawrence Taylor

when I played defense

suffice to say

I was deeply saddened

when they got rid of the bin

and replace it

with a cardboard baler

Fuck the environment!

Quality entertainment

is hard enough to come by

as it is without

these added inconveniences

and it got recycled

either way

I never liked the job

to begin with

and liked it even less

after they robbed me

of my football glory
