with no fire

on the beach next to the bridge

the sun is gone, but the sky

is bright with stars

center stage is the big dipper

it's almost as if

i could make that up

my breath floats in

the flashlight beam

i wonder if the quiet

is for me

if the last ice age

left this rock on this beach

for me to sit and write

and to pine for you

like  every conifer

along the shore

You're wording is good. It paints a scene in my head almost like from a book or movie. I especially like the last three stanzas.

A beautiful poem; but the last two stanzas are incredibly brilliant!
