Glimpse Of Heaven

There was a time I felt a shadow slip into my heart,
Soft, yet certain in its claim.
It drew nearer—
and I, trembling, watched in silent awe,
my feet unwilling to flee.

Fear chained my breath,
my lips frozen by wonder.
Obsession took root where reason died,
and your voice—
sweet torment—
unraveled the fortress of my pride.

Your eyes became my sanctuary and my sin,
their gaze—
a storm that shelters and destroys.
You wove a smile upon my heart,
and stole the strength from my breath,
till even fear bent its knee before you.

You whitened all my rivers,
and in the pale architecture of your beauty,
I found both ruin and redemption—
a glimpse of heaven,
wrapped in the tragedy of desire.
