Everybody wants
to check out Trevi Fountain
when they’re in Roma.
It’s a tourist cliché
but movie overkill guides us.
The image of Anita Ekberg
splashing in the fountain
from La Dolce Vita
is a modern archetype.
It is stunning
when you turn the corner
and see the statues in the fountain
and the flowing water.
It was a warm day
when I was there
and I had worked up a sweat.
I felt myself being seduced
by that image of Anita Ekberg dancing.
I thought better of it though.
I don’t suspect the poliziotti
would extend the same courtesy to me
that they extended to Ms. Ekberg.

Having wished on a penny there i tried to dance but polizia quickly made a stance and took me the station and fined me all my brass suits me right for being such a ass in 1999 I learned keep your clothes on and toes out of the water!
