Just because I don't talk

Doesn't mean I don't feel

Just because I don't cry in public

Doesn't mean these tears aren't real

Just because I try to act

Like I really don't even care

Doesn't mean that I could cope

If suddenly you weren't there

Just because I sometimes say

That not all things are true

Doesn't mean I've no respect

Or that I don't love you

It's just that I am at an age

Where I'm finding my own two feet

Where I'm far too proud to cry

Or to even admit defeat.
