This Monster Inside Me

Folder:
2011-2012

Paint the world in gray
Never surrender
Your precious black and white have
Wilted.

To wither within
Locks of ebony gold
Amber-coloured resilience
To rest against chapped lips
In the blistering cold
Of the silence you left behind

Sing to me
In a hierarchy
Of heartbeats

A march of aversion
Because I repulse every dictation
Every chance to redeem

And

All I never said
Rots inside of me
The letters slough off my tongue
And rumble within

These walls I've built up are
Unbreakable
Because I am
The unfixable
The unattainable truth
That burns vivid
You left me to face
This monster inside me

Because

The monsters aren't under our beds
The true darkness is inside ourselves
It is only temporarily that we let the devil

Out of our hearts...

Wow, must say this left me

Wow, must say this left me rather speechless. Great piece.

"I am my own sort of strange, a supernova of madness and brillance. Forced to share the same space and time. Sane enough to not be seen, yet not crazy enough to be heard." -- Matthew Wayne
