A Word I'll Never Know

Folder:
2007

I can't escape the blinding light,

Of stars, so hidden, in the night,

The pain is just too much to bare,

I see your face, it's everywhere.

It seems like only yesterday,

We slept on rooftops, far away,

The smell of smoke was in the air,

And in the dark, I found you there.

Of all the days the sky has cried,

I find that part of me had died,

The storm clouds roll, I feel the heat,

Of beating hearts below my feet.

The sky's on fire, the night is cold,

The smell of sex is getting old,

I find my eyes will not shed tears,

As ignorance goes through my ears.

Just today I found the truth,

A million lies pass over you,

The sky clears up, and then I see,

There's nothing in this world for me.

So take the knife and dig it deep,

And watch a smile begin to creep,

When all goes dark, and there's no fear,

And I'll be happy when you're here.

"The sky's on fire, the night is cold,
The smell of sex is getting old,"

Goddess, woman. I envy your abilities.
