old poems

The shadow cast upon my face
And sunshine grimly fades,
I'm left alone to sit and dream
I am different, so it seems
I'm one dot within a million lines
One needle in the hay stack
The green grape on the vines
Why does it seem like you're the only one
Who just doesn't belong?
It's sort of like in that old Sesame Street song
The one piece in the puzzle box
that just doesn't fit
The one candle on the cake
that won't stay lit
The only tree in the forest
That has toppled down
The only person in the crowd
Wearing a frown

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is from last year...I wasn't feeling too incredibly great.
