I see the storm clouds passing overhead
It's not gonna shine out today
Still I see your hopeful eyes glancing
Every so often, a wistful sigh
I haven't the heart to tell you

The night is drawing nearer
Still you sit alone, a restless stare
I bring myself over to you
Flashing a cheerful smile, I whisper

As it sinks in you turn away
I stop you as you leave
The rain begins to trickle down
A lulling calm sets in
I'll tell you the truth
It's not gonna shine out today, but...
It's not about waiting for your storms to pass
It's about learning to dance in the rain
You take my hand and I pull you in
Sweet music echoes from within
We twirl amongst the raindrops
Not a care or a fleeting thought
A smile stretches across your face
Finally tasting the sun on your lips
I sing out softly
It's not gonna shine out today
We aren't waiting for a storm to pass
Just dancing
