The Great Blue Heron

Watched the great blue heron for a while together. Nice how he blended in perfectly with the surroundings of the day. His feathers, the color of grey faded drift wood and his neck looked like fine bark of a split pine tree. His tuffet head feathers made him look old and wise. We watched him until he moved up on the fallen tree to be right in the sun.

Packed up and headed across that long 24 mile bridge they call the Causeway. Must have crossed that bridge now more times in the past 8 months, than I have in my entire life.

Quiet in the Car, on our drive, for the most part, and not because I don't have things to say or talk about, just because I enjoy the silence, watching the water and looking at the birds on the way. Asked you if you knew the life span of a Pelican and you responded with a funny, witty poem, that I just can't remember right now. Something like, " I don't know the life span of a Pelican, but I bet his mouth can hold more than his belly can. :)

I love

this poem, so filled with the beauty of the daily trial and tribulations that are what life is truly about... you write well, I hope to read many more going forward.

Peace

Dylan
