Sisters

Two little girls, in a strange bed.

Nowhere to slumber, so that's where there led.

Darkness descends,they cuddle to sleep.

Then, in the night there's a patter of feet.

He checks all around him.

Before his bad deed.

Preparing to spill his venomous seed.

One child wakes up, she is frozen with fright.

Then a sigh of relief, not her turn tonight.

Will she ever erase the guilt, and the fact.

She did not do ought, to stop that cruel act.

Her little sweet sister endured all the pain.

And now she is left with the scars and the shame.

What could they have done to prevent and decline.

When one was just seven, and the other just nine.
