tangible yet unreachable

put together yet broken

breathing yet suffocating

dreaming yet not sleeping

swimming yet drowning

rising yet falling

living yet dying

numb yet feeling



you can reach me

but you can't touch me

you can put me together

but I'll still be broken

I'm breathing crisp air

but I am suffocating

I am dreaming a nightmare

but I am not sleeping

I am swimming in the ocean

but I'm drowning under water

I am rising above the earth

but I am falling from the sky

I am living the life I'm in

but I am dying inside me

I am completely numb now

but I am feeling everything



do you see behind the surface

what you see may not be what is real

what you think you might know about me

may be nothing but foolish conclusions

existence is not what it seems to be

nothing is as it appears on the outside

and when you think you hold the world in your hands

you hold no one, you hold absolutely nothing
