words coming out that I've never spoken before

pain inside that I just can't seem to ignore

you let me talk and ramble on for hours

and inside of you, you seem to hold some kind of power

a power to keep me from giving up the fight

a power to make me feel okay even if things aren't all right

a power to make me laugh and to smile when you say

that it is all going to be okay

I could never ask for a better friend, you are heaven sent

you are my fortress, my life support, my confidant



you care about me and everything I have to say

everything I'm going through, you walk with me along the way

your the one that sees through my disguise

your the one that looks deep into my eyes

you take the time to actually understand

you are always here reaching out your hand

and when I take your hand, I take off my mask

you help me get up, I don't even have to ask
