One thousand angels

Folder:
2005

the scars on your back, the nails in your hands and feet

are only a little of what you endured just to save me

the blood rushing down your face, the thorns piercing your head

I could of been punished for my sins but you payed for me instead

I wasn't worthy but you took me as I was and loved me anyway

then you became my sin and payed the highest price anyone's ever payed

and sometimes I break down and cry cause I can't imagine a love so deep

that you would just stand there and let them hurt you as you bleed

chorus

you could of called one thousand angels to save you

you could have escaped all that you went through

but instead you suffered and died to pay for my cost

bleed for me, suffered for me, died upon that cross

may I never take one single moment you suffered for granted

and always feel truly sorry when I disobey what you demanded

cause I know even if I was the only person who was in need

you still would have got up on that cross and would have died for me

a million words couldn't sum up how grateful I am

that though I am not worthy of you, you consider me a friend

and as I bow down to you and fall to me knees in prayer

I feel your prescence taking over me and I know your there

and sometimes when I have too much pride inside of me

I take a breath and close my eyes and I can see

I can see the blood, I can see your eyes filled with pain

and it reminds me that I can never ever forget your name

chorus

you are my God, you are my king

you are my Lord, you are my everything

nothing will ever come before you in my life

because it is only in you that I find the light

chorus

I love this, Em. It's so beautiful. I printed it out and I also printed out Don't Hold Anything Back. I love that one too.
