An Ocean Of Tears

Folder:
Before 2006

I see your trouble,

day by day.

I see your tears,

I see your pain.

Why can't I wipe it all away?

I see you cry,

when I know you could fly.

Please,

I would go on my knees,

if only I could melt it all away.

When you speak of suicide,

it makes my want to cry,

to run and hide,

from the pain,

I just want to melt it all away.

I see your pain, I see you cry,

just please, please, don't say goodbye.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this poem about two of my friends,  right after I watched a video that talked about suicidal teens. Last year ('02) I saved one of my friends' lives by convincing her not to commit suicide. That's why I wrote the last line the way I did, I just didn't want to risk losing my two friends.

As someone who knows the darkness of being suicidal, and having delt with others in that state, I really enjoyed your poem. How great it would have been to have a friend write something like this during those times! I couldn't have said it better:)
