Leprechan

Lying in his favorite shoebox,

the green-eyed cat with orange locks

dozes sweetly in the darkness.

He'd love a life solitary,

but he's happy living with me;

certainly, I would have no less.

The devil sleeps quite merrily,

and I enjoy his company.

I found his top secret mouse stash

in the closet, put in the trash

each little one that I had found;

he was upset, but not for long -

he has enough to get along.

Many treasures are all around.

Now, the devil sleeps merrily,

and I enjoy his company.
