The Apple of My Mind

I know Heaven's what you make it,

but I think there are daffodils

bright as the sun, a warm yellow;

sweet, fragrant roses everywhere;

the grass is always green; the trees

are lovely and give up sweet fruits;

and the breezes are warm and kind.

At one end, there is a forest;

at another, a golden beach;

at one side are snow-capped mountains;

the other, a quiet river.

It will be sunny and then rain

just before you long for it; soon,

the sun will come by the same luck.

I wish I could go there and see

just how lovely and sweet it is;

I've seen it often in my mind,

but that is all I can manage.

This place does not exist, but if

it did, I'd like to visit it

and explore, experience, live.

Who doesn't want to see Heaven?

Author's Notes/Comments:

It was actually inspired (sort of) by a play i wrote years ago and by the "As We Go Along" scene in "Head".  This is a Heaven on Earth/in mind thing, not an afterlife.  i'm agnostic.
