An Exile to Her Old Home

Oh, I would love to see the sea,

to lay back in the ocean blue;

it's the quintessence of serenity,

one of life's most beauteous hues.

To float along among the waves,

like a gigantic rocking chair they sway -

see how calmly each one behaves;

back and forth, they drag the world away.

Even though the storms may come,

to go there I am not afraid, no.

The waters call me to my home;

the call I must answer, I must go.

Yes, I would love to see the sea,

to lay back in the ocean blue,

for it means the world and my life to me

though it may never mean the same to you.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I sometimes miss the beaches of Oahu, even if I haven't been there in 8 years and haven't lived there in 9 3/4 years.  What I miss the most is just floating on a boogie board with Dad there.  It's so beautiful.
