You Come Silently

You come silently, tip-toeing through;

you don't even knock a bead or two

on the curtain at my door.  You come

to me suddenly, the room seems to hum.

i know that you're there; the bliss

that comes to me from your sweet kiss

shatters the ice and clears my mind.

Suddenly i feel left behind -

as the world goes 'round, i'm standing still,

watching it turn, like the Fool on the Hill,

and time goes by very slowly, yet

it's too quick for me.  i can't forget

how precious it is, this time we share.

You brush your hands through my dark hair,

sweetly singing songs of deep content

with a voice i'm sure is heaven-sent.

Then, when you leave and take the key,

you know i'm yours and can now see.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this a while back, but can't remember when.  It's a poem to God, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to share it or not because it was personal until I shared it with some classmates.
