Oliver Stains (Short Story)

On a sunny afternoon or not, Justynn Tyme repeats his second name, Jeremy Tanaka, over and over followed by under and to the side. He enjoys its pleasant pronunciation, hō-kē-pō-kē tä-nä-kə, and realizes its supernatural ability to open his mouth. The neighbor Oscar Frogs, a light sleeper, pounds on the wall, but nothing is heard due to Oscar Frogs also being a light pounder. Empathetic, Jeremy Tanaka pounds for him. The rooms darken with all the bulb breaking.

Jeremy Tanaka opens up his dresser and changes into first person. Not having eaten since sometime in the past or future, I consider the half-eaten calzone in my hand despite its odd soapy texture and aroma. Its receipt from the soap shop should clear the matter. Suddenly, more of the story reveals itself---a pronoun meaning the identical one. Impressed thus far, I make the next line. The next line. The previous line is the next line. The next line. Until finally, the bank teller calls for me. Is this true?

Here is a hint: Oscar Frogs' surname not only hops, but is green. The opposite of incorrect is correct. Oscar Frogs nods his head in agreement with such vigor that his head pops off and strikes a boxing bell. The heavyweight champion, Thor Porkchops, approaches and takes a swing at Oscar Frogs' imagined head, severely disfiguring his own imagination. The audience throws fruits and vegetables at Oscar Frogs, so he puts them away in the kitchen.

Oscar Frogs exits the stage and Emma Pinscher enters. Nothing is known of Emma Pinscher and it will stay that way. That will teach you to be wise. That is, unless you are absent like the vagabond living behind the auditorium named once at birth---two possible names being Oliver Stains and any other. Like any other visionary or visionary undertaking, Oliver Stains starts with an O and ends with a bullet to the head.
