Starless Night

I'm searching within the sky; trying to find any kind of light

I'm in search of guidance, I'm in search of your starlit nights.

I'm laying lifelessly on the grass, times passing by so fast

I thought I was on the right path, but I can't even try to turn back.

The night sky looks so dead, a fire burning through it's gaze

The stars aren't shining for me tonight, my minds in such a haze.

I thought you'd be watching over me, letting me know I'm not alone

I suppose I've learned the hard way that I should've just let go.

My face is wet from all these years, building up all these unshed tears

I need to know you're still there, I need to know I have no reason to fear.

Please tell me you're watching over me, that you can hear these silent cries

I'm withering slowly on the ground now, my visions blurring on this starless night.

Remarkable. Pressing. True.
I love the feeling, the sense of self -- the visions that make the human mind tick. I simply love it. I love your story. I love your beat. I, of course, absolutely adore poetry such as this. Poetry that you know is based on true, personal, experience. You master all your poems like that. And this one... this one truly builds up to a climax of truth, coming of age, and undeniable wisdom.
