Who Are You?

Hello there, my dear;

I'm everything you fear

I see your hollow gaze

Burning and ablaze.

I am you.

Hello dear, are you so bold?

Or are you putting up a show?

You're shivering, dear;

Those pills won't help you here.

I am you.

Who am I? I am your shadow

I will always be there to follow

Dry your eyes, my dear;

You're choking on your tears.

I am you.

Is it worth your life, dear?

All the pain, the anger and strife?

Drop the bottle, step forward;

And take a look at the mirror.

I am you.

Your face is absolutely white

Your lips twisted in delight

Your eyes are shallow; hollow

And your soul is forever cold.

I am you.

Who am I? I am you, my dear

You've become all that you've feared

I'm here to save you, within this dream

Drop the bottle; step foward fearlessly.

Who are you?

I am you.

(April 17, 2007.) I took to many pills one time... and this is what I saw. My own reflection speaking to me.

What a very somber poem of reflect. I enjoyed this one greatly. It reminded me of a steady beat to a song. I can hear the tempo, the drums, and the echoing voice of a soul mourning. Incredible, dear. Keep this up -- I have to say, I like this one even more than the last I just read. You're inserting more and more ideals within your writing. Amazing.
