Luna And Butterfly

Spice our air wrangle

   Void talk cyclone acrosswide

      900 Blackbird

Chatter the rain wake

   Flee to blue horizontal

      Lion stealth timeless

Under clocks of waste

   Marble cloud sibilant fly

      Past in freight of ears

Chanted steel vision

   SQUEAL from black wingfeather

      A siren of flash

Dialogue of clouds

Corpse of wings the air screaming

      Clatter liberates

The grandfather trees

   Arise from fernbeds awoken

      Majestically tall

In their infancy

   Wail in the sky sleeply

      Curl to a sproutling

Then her sequoia

Seed in the wind sacred home

      In the lonely wind

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this poem for Julia Butterfly Hill, who has inspired many with her bravery and conviction.
