My Friends

When the monsoon breeze wanders by

And murmurs low across the sky,

My friends, it’s you that fills my mind;

A radiant warmth, both rare and kind.

I think of laughter, bright and free,

Of passing hours shared with me;

You are the greatest gift I’ve known,

More precious still than gilded stone.

Through days of shadow, grief, and tears,

Your voices echo through the years;

My friends, so fierce, yet gentle, and true,

My wandering heart returns to you.

We forged a promise, hand in hand,

A bond our souls will understand;

Through shifting tides and skies of gray,

Our friendship finds its timeless way.

Author's Notes/Comments:

A tribute to the friends who shaped my life and stayed with me, even as time moved on.
