A NIGHT SPEND WITH AN ANGELIC SAQI

After a night spent with an angelic saqi,
My cares and worries just melted away,
The spiritual effect, the sweet memory,
Made me ready to face a new day.

Houris are there in this world too,
Chaste, modest and virtuous,
What are needed are a pure heart and eyes,
And a soul, pious, Godly and true.

Invisible to the lustful mortals they are,
Mysterious and rare like a hidden star,
Only those who are the guests of God,
Are allowed to enter the Heavenly Bar.

Untouched by a genie or any man,
These houris are beyond scientific scan,
Pristine in beauty and ethereal charm,
Their eyes erase care like nothing can...

When night and dawn embrace daily,
When divinity responds to my plea,
This houri from God lifts up her veil,
And replenishes my sapping energy.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This year's Islamic fasting month of Ramadan (Ramzan) enriched me with a series of spiritual experiences and the one related in this poem is one of those -- All praise to God Almighty Allah. Like I have said before I will say it again: The More I see of men and women the more do I love God and the world of spiritual splendor, peace, love abounding with harmonious ecstasy.
Houris are mentioned in several religious scriptures of the world and even in The Glorious and Holy Qur'an. They are pure and chaste maidens of exceptional beauty and meant to be companions of Godly men -- as related in the holy scriptures.
