TO HEATHER BURNS

Thank you Heather Burns, my poetess friend,
Thank you for your candid comments,
Let me reciprocate your frank critiques:
Your poems too deserve compliments.
Venus rises and sets twice sometimes,
And as Orion descends, Scorpius rises,
You are however like the Northern Star,
Constant and true at all times.
Friendship is a very sacred bond,
And you Heather, like me, know it well,
Your poems are well-written and deep,
And they portray a being quite strong.
You lost a soul very close to your heart,
And even I have my own cleft apart,
But then, dear poetess friend of mine,
Let us keep treasures, where none can find.
Whenever I am near a sandy beach,
I miss the one I long to reach,
I long to hold her hand and walk on,
Till love relates the true hearts' speech.
Losing a good companion is a wound,
Which only those like us can feel,
Yet, Heather, these are life's hard facts,
Let's keep them safe behind memory's veil.
