to feel happiness, experience joy,
the meaning of Madhubala -
An angel sent as God's gift.
How true sounds Keats' emphatic stress,
When I see between an ugly mess:
"A thing of beauty is a joy forever,
Its loveliness increases it will never,
Pass into nothingness."
I agree with my poet friend,
Whenever I am with this legend:
In the disturbed moments of a dreary night -
She appears - much to my heart's delight.

Note to readers: Madhubala is the famous Indian actress whose legendary beauty and remarkable acting remain inimitable to this day. However, like Marilyn Monroe in the West, Madhu's personal life was always afflicted by tragic upheavals. I, as a poet and admirer of beauty, have always cosidered Madhubala to be the epitome of feminine attractiveness. Her ethereal charm still pervades and more than often I feel that her spirit (She died in Feb 1969 at the age of 36) hovers around me. Maybe this is just my imagination. Maybe it is a true spiritual contact. However, I have always prayed for Madhu's salvation in the hereafter and it could be God Almighty's 'reward' for sending her soul to fill my empty life with happiness, peace and sublime inner joy.
