MY HAUNT

Lonely seagull,

how long it has been,

since we heard that song,

that brings us here,

to this echoing haunt,

you and me and the silent sea.

A voice that's now a memory,

a sweet enchanting melody,

how its mystique pulls us here,

to this solitary spot,

you and me and the silent sea.

A secret place inside the heart,

where the pain of parting doesn't part,

longs for her to be here,

seeks once more that harmony,

the ethereal hum that draws us here,

to this secret place,

you and me and the silent sea.

This was written in memory of my first love Daphne.

I feel this 'secret place' sometimes, you have expressed this well. It seems when walking on the beach one relates to expanse of the sea and the shore of the soul most.
