A LONE STAR

The years have passed by so fast,

Un-noticed, ungrasped,

Childhood, youth and middle age.

Memories are reminders,

Of all the moments,

Like good old movies.

I wish I could forget all,

But nothing effaces,

From the mind's still screen.

An innocent crush of the past,

Which grew into love,

Now a haunting shadow.

Walking past the old graveyard,

I ask the red sun,

If my time is near.

Silence greets me like darkness,

Day turns into night,

I seek my lost youth.

Hope battles with my despair,

Faith is like a straw,

Which stops my drowning.

Does anything really matter,

In this world of ours?

Who can answer me...

The canopy streched overhead,

Is like history,

MISSING A LONE STAR.
