The Curse of The Pill

This shadow tells it all

It crawls beneath your skin...

Close your eyes...

Welcome home...

Sleep slowly creeps into your veins,

Dragging you beneath forgotten names.

Darkest dreams begin to breathe,

Wrapping chains around your memories.

Past and future blur as one,

Shadows swallow what you've become.

Every heartbeat echoes fear,

Your greatest monster's standing here.

You reach... but never move...

You scream... but no one hears...

The prison wasn't built around you...

It grew from all your fears.

I AM MY OWN ENEMY!

Buried underneath this misery!

One more pill to silence every scream,

While death disguises itself as peace.

My nightmare wears my face tonight,

Feeding on addiction's appetite.

I'm losing pieces of my soul...

While darkness whispers...

"Just let go..."

The curse was never carved in stone,

It lives inside the lies you've grown.

Depression, hatred, guilt and greed,

Poison roots that slowly feed.

Bottle every broken scar,

Hide the wounds beneath the stars.

Every dose becomes a chain,

Every swallow fuels the pain.

TAKE!

ANOTHER!

PILL!

Tell yourself it makes you heal!

LIE!

Watch your spirit slowly die!

YOU AREN'T BROKEN!

YOU'RE JUST AFRAID TO OPEN...

YOUR...

EYES!!

Life's a puzzle with endless pieces,

Scattered through forgotten seasons.

The picture waits beneath the pain,

But you'll never see it while hiding in chains.

Every shattered piece belongs,

Every scar becomes a song.

Freedom waits beyond the night...

If you'll finally choose to fight.

]I AM MY OWN ENEMY!

But I won't die inside this misery!

No more pills to bury every scream,

No more living inside this dream.

Piece by piece I'll build my soul,

Even when the darkness takes its toll.

The curse only wins...

If I never let...

MYSELF...

GO!

Sleep still waits...

But tonight...

I refuse...

...to dream.
