A Shared Sky

There you lay, miles away

while you sleep at night.

Nightmares come, and dreams escape

about the final flight.

But as you lay, and dream away

of what could be a better life,

here I lay, through a window gleams,

the same stars we share at night.

Full of hope our dreams have become

and change comes, with filled time.

But always remember through times of despair

that you are souly mine.

When you awake to a brand new day,

realize that I am here.

And no matter how far a mile seems

I will always be there.

It won't be long til you are safe from pain,

and in the arms of love.

It won't be long til I see you again,

for now, we share a sky above.

The moon is now our one connection,

at one glance we can never part.

As we stare at the starry sky,

we are never that far apart.

There you lay miles away,

while you sleep at night.

It won't be long, until you return home.

May the shared stars be your guide.
