Not of Royalty

Folder:
FINAL

My uncrowned prince,

pronounced to me

that I should become

the queen of his kingdom.

Unsure of why,

I slip away

into a peaceful palace.

Just for a moment,

we stand on the terrace.

He whispers

those words

I've seen

I've read.

His eyes search mine,

and I shy away.

A prince with

me as a queen

would advance him to king.

But I am not of royalty.

If I were,

then there on his terrace

would we embrace.

Stand over the lands of ours.

To be his queen,

is a sin, forbidden.

Still I dream of sands

unknown to me.
