Eye to Eye

I glanced at her, she stopped me and glared.

The flicker of an eye became a stare.

I could not turn my face away,

and here we stood face to face.

I thought If I moved one step closer,

she would have slapped me in the face.

Standing next to my enemy,

I could see right through her hate.

I could not see past reason,

her eyes were wild with hate.

Then her mouth formed to move,

to utter a cry to me.

I told her to watch out for what she said.

Choose your words Carfully.

I wish I didn't glance at her,

she hates me, and I'm scared.

If only I could find a word,

to describe that it wasn't a stare.

She told me she hated me,

and I had no words to reply.

For it was the mirror,

I was seeing eye to eye.
