The Spice Of Life

A face in the crowd, A player in the game,

Everybody's different, Nobody's the same,

Variety's the spice of life, It's what makes us unique,

The Prep, the Jock, The BeautyQueen, The Skater, and the Geek,

Beauty is inside our hearts, Not on the outer surface,

We have to learn to love ourselves, Seek out a higher purpose,

Everybody needs some love, feel comfort, and secure,

Sometimes friendships not enough, You just long for a little more,

Outside's whats not important, Inside's what really matters,

Don't listen to the hurtful words, The whispers and the chatters,

Before you love somebody else, You need to love yourself,

You are beautiful the way you are, you don't need fancy clothes or wealth,

No matter if your poor or rich, your skinny, fat or old,

Your young and brash and cocky, or just want someone to hold,

If everybody was the same, what fun would life then be?

Our eyes would die from bordom, if there's only one thing to see,

Don't worry about the way you look, as long as it works for you,

You can't be someone that your not, live a lie, ignore whats true,

Time is shorts, so go have fun,

Embrace us all, each and everyone,

Just remember all your good points, and hold them close to heart,

Don't let the hurt consume you, Or it will tear you apart,

And when the day is through,

Just believe that somewhere, somebody loves you...

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is a poem i wrote a while back to help me remind myself of just how cruel the world can be sometimes, but the most important thing, is to respect yourself, and be happy with the person you are...beacuse your beautiful...

Nice touch, well expressed, easy to read, and to relate to. I like motivational pieces when they're well done, and this is one of them!

Hey Aaron, This poem is quite a piece of work. I enjoyed the message behind the words, and how you made them flow so evenly. This is so true. People need to realize that it's not for what they wear, or how they look, whether a prep, jock, goth or a geek. I know quite a few people who always had a hard time fitting in, and I look at them now, and they have tons of friends, because they were themselves, and didn't get discouraged. I commend those people for sticking to thier guns. Anyway, Great poem Aaron, I'll tell everybody at postpoems you've joined, and get some feed back on your other poems posted! I'm expecting great new poems from you Aaron, this one's amazing! Love, Krista xoxoxo
