Lock Down

Folder:
Brian

I'm heading for a melt down

Barreling toward disaster at light speed

I'm looking straight at a lock down

Time to shut down, close up shop

No reason left to keep the light on

It's energy all wasted

Hook me up to a generator

Put my life force into something better

I walk around, perform my tasks

No one sees, no one cares

That I'm just a shell moving from day to day

If they took the time to care, they'd know that

I'm heading for a melt down

Barreling toward disaster at light speed

I'm looking straight at a lock down

Time to shut down, close up shop

Gone is the laughter from my eyes

No more mirth in my smile

Hollow and empty

I know I'm crashing

I want out, I was release

Turn the key, open the doors

Let the sun in

Unlock my light

I'm heading for a melt down

Barreling toward disaster at light speed

I'm looking straight at a lock down

Time to shut down, close up shop

Light my sun

Unlock these doors

Let my soul fly again

Author's Notes/Comments:

I'm not sure which category this would go in, and I do so hate creating new ones just for one poem.
