Retrospect To Love

All you ever showed me was true love and affection

A secure bond I felt was cloaked with protection

A love that guided me in a new direction

A pure attraction with no form of objection

A sweet personality with a beautiful complexion

You won my heart in love's election

All you ever gave me was a warm embrace

A caramel kiss compliments the smile on you face

An essesnce of beauty to the perfect taste

Understanding and support in whatever the case

And when I wasn't feeling you gave me time and space

The memory of your love I could never erase

All you ever taught me was how to see love through

When blinded, you offered me a clear view

Of love and life and in my heart it was ture

I can see a treasure in everything you do

In my lessons of love, the first was you

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is a poem I decided to write about love. The poem is actually about three different individuals who taught me the meaning of what love is and how it should be experienced.

I'm so happy to see that amidst your past lack of affection you were eventually acknowledged and treated with the love you deserve. I'm so grateful that those 3 people collectively introduced you to the meaning of love.

Every day we witness is a blessing, desipite the outcome!
