Pulsing hands

With all these hearts resting in my hands,

My own pulse is starting to feel faint,

Its strange how restraint can operate just like bait,

And yet the ones we catch we always let astray,

While to those that hold us captive we just depreciate,

Unpaid emotions,

And falling into debt,

With depths of pain you cannot write with a check,

As i check inside of me for a heart i cannot feel,

I wonder will i heal if the pain seems to be sealed,

Wrapped inside of vengeance,

Vindictive intentions,

Love is but a past time while hate seems transcendent,

So though you say "I Love you",

I hesitate to trust you,

Because in the end "Love" is like a conversation about yourself,

They disgust you. - Devonte Mack

Know what, Mack? This poem

Know what, Mack? This poem sounds like someone on the verge of realizing that all love is unconditional. Now that may sound like an easy offer...right? Sure, we all think that when we love someone to the deepest depths we would allow anything from them...but if we are honest, we will know that many of us, (me for one) have big questions when it comes to things like disrespect, cheating, lying, stealing etc etc...the list goes on, right? So then we have to ask ourselves and question and evaluate within us... 'what is love to us?' If all love is unconditional, to what extent are we capable of loving? I think it is different for wach of us, right? So with that, It allows us to ee how we use this word---'love' so carelessly, and that love in itself, is somewhat of a lifelong 'process' more than anything, and that at best, we can only say, with all real gut honesty, that as humans we CAN show kindness to each other. Just my thoughts that your poem inspired. Thank you for sharing so I have been given this opportunity to share with others and remind myself to choose my words carefully. ~peace~

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

Thanks for reading

And i veiw love more as a life long decision, see many of us have people that want a chance at our hearts but we choose the one we feel fits our needs whether those needs are, physical, emotional, or some form of superfical glamour depnds on the person thats choosing, but honestly to me love's conditions depends on the lover's aspirations.

An ignorant mind neglects common sense, seeking what doesn't exists, unaware of the coming abyss, and cannot see the hate behind a loving kiss. - Devonte Mack

I would agree aspirations

I would agree aspirations play an important role.. 'love as a lifelong decision'--interesting thought!!! I will say I have always thought of it more a 'lifelong'.
