rain pours in florida

like no other place in the world

sometimes i belive the sky justs

opens and the waves flow

as kids we'd play in the puttles

we couldnt wait for it to rain

so we could go out and play

it was just another excuse

to get soaking wet and enjoy life

rain for all my life has been a constant

but over time the perspetion of rain has changed

as a child we would get excited

as an adult i have learn to abhore it

we used to put on our slicks

and run wherever we had to go

now its a procedure

we have to get an umbrella

and swiftly walk  trying to stay dry.

where that degree changed i dont know

butthe next time it rains

i believe ill take a walk in the rain

and remeber old times

and feel young and happy

ass the rain washes the misery

of another lack luster day away.
