I am building a breakable wall

Something hand-made of conviction and self-preservation
but ever breakable

Something that will withstand the elements of a sharp tongue or a dull wit – or both
An elegant light red wine or a coarse Deepblue whine
Something to strengthen my focus

I am building a breakable wall -
A wall with memories intertwined
from many sites I’ve seen,
and the people I’ve loved over the years.

I am the wisdom and downfalls
of somebody who honestly doesn’t have all the answers
but never stops asking questions

I am building a breakable wall -
I turn to able allies

With the ambition, ammunition, and eccentricity
to enter the unhinged mouth of the jungle, this tragic kingdom
and emerge as something more for themselves -
something beloved and becoming

I’m building a breakable wall -
