Service

People in this day and age are usually cold

Always trying to fit in society's mold

Ignoring that there are unfortunate souls

In this world, falling through the holes

Sometimes people just need a helping hand

To know they aren't simply a grain of sand

It doesn't take much to make someone's day

The pain and the hardship can be cast away

From our pedestals it can be hard to see

That helping others may actually be the key

To our own happiness, one we never knew

Our commitment is one that is long overdue

Before last year I never cared to help

After my induction I realized how I felt

Doing things for my community wasn't so bad

Today this holds true, for that I feel glad
