Heaven Is Your New Playground

Verse1

Jumping off of roof tops

in the back yard

we were only little kids

but our dreams took us far

always thought we were Superman

'til we hit the ground

then we'd do it all again

always shared our dreams in life

what we always wanted to be

Bridge1

We were only kids but we lived our dreams

to the fullest everyday

Verse2

We grew up taking on the world

missed a couple years of hanging out

then there we were again

talking about the good ol' days

when we took on the world

we kicked it square in the face

that was you and me

that's how we lived our lives

the way it's supposed to be

Bridge2

The world was our playground

then you had to go away

Chorus

You woke up in the arms of God

He took you Home

so you'd feel no more pain

no more pain

He called you Home

so you can heal for all eternaty

to be the angel He always knew you would be

Heaven is a safe place

play on my brother

go on and play

Heaven Is Your New Playground

you're here to stay

Verse3

I remember the times and the trouble

we'd always get into

doing those crazy things

all us kids would do

take the race cars out to play

roll 'em down the hallway

Bridge3

That's just how we rolled

everyday

Repeat Chorus

(solo)

Verse4

If I could

I'd go back to the good ol' days

just for one more talk

just for one more time to play

just to take on the world again

someday

Repeat Chorus

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this song for my cousin who passed away in February this year. This is just a glimpse into how we were when we were kids and actually doing some of these crazy things. And yes, we lterally would jump off the roof of his Dad's garage. We'd get in trouble every time we got caught, but it was all in good fun. We had good times. Ilove and miss him so much.
