Dig A Grave

Blood, staining the wet sand.

The sea, painted the color of red from blood.

Thousands dead.

Many wounded.

Slaughtered.

The air, soaked with the stench of blood and death.

The screams of another.

The cries of the strong.

It’s sickening.

The sight and smell enough to make the strongest of men puke.

The fear in the men making them nostalgic.

No one says anything.

The scene silent with the exception of the wounded

Crying, screaming for their loved ones.

Misfortune has befallen these men.

Prying them from happiness.

Filled only with loneliness.

Friends gone.

Brothers in arms.

So many left behind.

So many tears.

The hate for the fallen.

Wanting to wake up.

Hoping that this is just a nightmare.

Praying for their lives.

So many lost.

So many killed.

For them, they have nothing but one thing to give.

Dig a grave.
