Empty Us

We are rolling in circles;

First you, I repeat,

A time of compromise,

A time to forgive.

That night of exception

And pitiful pleas;

Two glasses we're raising,

Two glasses of tears.

Tell me, do you believe

In pointless squeals?-

Distant, we are still chasing

After promising cheers.

I try to erase

All the cynical me;

You are stitching the pieces

Of unbreakable "we".

What the heart's tightly holding

-Once let it away-

Never comes back

With same devotion and fate.

Drearily aging the night

In a fading believes;

Gladly letting the sun

Guide two separate streets.

This is so incredibly amazing, I read it nearly five times to soak it all in. What a genuine way to express something so "cliche." It's...beautiful.
