Walked back in time today to a place 
in my mind
from many years ago
a mountain top high above the treeline
high above all the noise 
far from the rat race down below

a place she used to talk to me 
not in words but in little signs
might not say two words the whole day 
but I'd get a shy smile when I was caught looking

she saw beyond the leather jacket 
the real Me hid behind the reputation
she touched me like no other ever could
feelings I kept hidden because I didn't know 
what to say

Let me tell you 'bout all the things I meant to do
I meant to tell her how much I really loved her
I meant to tell her I wanted to grow old with her
I meant to tell her.........................................
I meant to say......
I meant to .....
I meant .....
I .......

I walked back in time today
then I wiped the tears away
