This is How I Feel

A child playing in the meadows,

Looking at the stars above,

He runs through the fields,

Feeling nothing but love.

Then disaster comes upon him,

As he almost reached the end,

He falls to the ground,

Life was no longer his friend,

This is how I feel,

When I see you away from me,

Feeling I should be holding your hand,

I only dream of living,

Hoping I could see,

Wondering why I couldn't be your man.

As the storms cover the sun,

That had the land lit up so bright,

And all the animals run and hide,

Not a single on in sight.

The flowers blossoms close,

And this dream land has died,

And the little angel on the stump,

Has now started to cry,

This is how I feel,

When I see you away from me,

Feeling I should be holding your hand,

I only dream of living,

Hoping I could see,

Wondering why I couldn't be your man.

This pain that lives in my heart,

I can't believe, we're so far apart,

Just look in my eyes, and see my pain,

Cause this is how I feel, in my heart.

I know this feeling.. rather switch the roles. I wonder why I can't be with him.. but know perfectly well why I can't be. Great job keep it up. Peace and love.

This one is heartbreaking...and really evokes a response...nicely written about a subject most of us are familiar with...thank you for sharing your emotions and thoughts...Deborah

I really enjoyed this poem - twice. It tells us explicitly how you feel and draws us in with the first two stanzas about the child (kind of like a "hook" statement in an article or essay). Good work!
